I love traveling to different parts of the world to admire and take photographs of gorgeous street art. Lucky for me, there is a major attraction (neighborhood) only 50 minutes away from me, called Wynwood, Miami (Miami Art District). This fantastic area showcases the amazing talent of local and extraordinary artists.
The Miami Art District is just north of Downtown Miami and the home of several beautiful galleries, tons of graffiti and cool restaurants. Although this place has not always been something to celebrate, it is now an area where locals and tourists are excited to visit.
Exploring The Miami Art District
I usually head down south a few times a year to check out the last murals. However, with Ms. Rona disrupting everything I didn’t get a chance to go last year. Thank goodness my homegirl, Niccole came into town a few days ago, giving us the perfect opportunity to catch up, do lunch and check out all the latest work in the Miami Art District.
Just a heads up:
- Several of the walls are painted over randomly. So what you see today might not be there tomorrow. There are very few that go untouched. There were a few specific pieces that I had been dying to see/photograph. However, I took my time, because me, being the silly person that I am, figured no one would dare paint over Tupac or Biggie! HA! Note to myself…next time don’t take anything for granted! While I was out discovering other art in nearby areas, I missed my chance to see what I considered to be the most epic of all masterpieces.
- The Miami Art District is approximately between NW 20th Street and 36th Street and NE 2nd Avenue to I-95; however the heart of the District is roughly between NW 22nd Street and NW 29th Street and North Miami Avenue to NW 4th Avenue.)
Check out some of my favorite murals/art below…
I have visited this extremely cool area many times, but this is the first time that I have experienced Wynwood while driving the Chevrolet Silverado. I have to say the walls were the perfect backdrop for this big, bold and bad beauty.
We started at NW 26th St and NW 2nd St and just winged it for the rest of the time. As long as you remember where you parked you really can’t go wrong in the Miami Art District. There are huge murals on every corner, so unless you are looking for something specific all you need to do is pick a direction and start walking. Trust me when I say you can’t go wrong.
(If you know who created the above work, please include in comments and I will add their information to post.)
2021 Chevrolet Silverado Crew 4X4 RST
I may be a bit biased because I am a pickup gal at heart, but this Chevy Silverado a total beast! Now don’t get me wrong, I love the fast and the fierce, but I also love the big, bold and the beautiful. Nothing can compare to sitting up high, beasting your way through the streets without even trying! And let’s be totally honest, when you are in something this huge people automatically get out of the way! “Move, get out the way. Get out the way, get out the way!” Me singing in my best Ludacris voice…HA!
On a serious note, this pickup is not only gorgeous, it is powerful, smooth and comes equipped with tons of the latest technology. I was also impressed that it comes equipped with tons of extra storage compartments to store handbags, shades, devices and so much more. Oh and speaking of devices, WIFI is standard in Chevy vehicles and the amount of outlets available for charging is insane.
Ladies! I totally understand that the size can be a bit intimidating, but trust and believe Chevy did not forget about us when designing this beauty. It drives really smooth, is super easy to handle and has a rear-view camera to assist when backing up and parking. Furthermore, getting in and out of the truck is a breeze due to the running boards and the multi-flex tailgate makes it easy to get in the bed of the truck. #SoNoWorries! So, if you are in the market for a new pickup, definitely check this one out.
Check out how easy it is to get in and out of the Silverado when using the multi-flex feature…
