Volkswagen 4MOTION AWD

The 4MOTION with Active Control is another smart feature that comes equipped with this compact SUV. You can switch between four different AWD modes that fits your current driving situation using the drive mode selector:

  • Snow Mode – Keeps vehicle lower RPM range and helps prevent too much power from going to the wheels too quickly.
  • On-Road Mode – Use this mode when driving in good conditions on paved roads.
  • Off-Road Mode – Helps maintain traction on challenging road surfaces.
  • Off-Road Custom Mode – This mode allows driver to choose different parameters like AWD and steering.

compact suv

As stated above, this compact SUV is a great starter vehicle. The price point, cool Taos badging, smart technology and gorgeous Cornflower Blue exterior won me over from the start. The color is so striking, that several of my neighbors came outside to check it out, on the drop off day! They loved it just as much as I did, if not more.

I would be remis if I didn’t mention that I did notice that while accelerating onto the freeway, it was a bit more sluggish than other vehicles I have driven in its class. Especially with the auto stop start system activated. When I turned this feature off, it did perform a lot better.

Note: I would suggest if looking for more power to check out the Volkswagen Tiguan.
