The Honda CR-V has been the company’s best-selling small SUV since the late 90’s and with this newly redesigned 2023 model I am sure it will continue along this path.
I recently traveled to Santa Barbara, California, to test out the 2023 hybrid/gas-only models. I also had a chance to experience the outgoing model, and I have to say that there is definitely a notable difference between the two (outgoing – vs- 2023). Who is this compact SUV for?
- Singles, small families
- Eco-Conscious car buyers
- Anyone who takes road trips
- Buyers who use most of their mileage in and around town, because they will gain the most benefit from running on electric-only power.
- Buyers in the market for a crossover w/excellent driving range
- Consumers who are looking to eventually switch to an all-electric vehicle. Owning a Hybrid first will make for a smoother transition when ready to take the next step.

First Drive Impressions

When Honda redesigned the all-new 2023 CR-V they definitely did it with the thought of maintaining its place on the bestseller list. The compact SUV arrives on the scene with an entirely new look inside and out and the upgrades/changes are quite noticeable and are simply breath of fresh air.
During the drive I had the opportunity to experience both the outgoing model and the 2023 model and, in my opinion, it was like night and day. Yes, the new hybrid, is physically bigger, but it felt easier to handle and offered a smoother, more comfortable ride experience. Additionally, the cabin materials and aesthetic were impressive. I also love that there is a FWD option for the hybrid Sport model.
Oh, and let’s not forget about the exterior, which has a sportier and fresher look. It is definitely a very attractive, sharp looking and enjoyable to drive.

3-Year 36,000-Mile Limited Vehicle Warranty:
All new Honda vehicles are covered by a 3-Year/36,000-Mile Limited Warranty, plus a 5-Year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty.
5-Year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty:
All new Honda vehicles are covered by a 3-Year/36,000-Mile Limited Warranty, plus a 5-Year/60,000-Mile Powertrain Limited Warranty.
Accessory Limited Warranty:
Honda genuine accessories installed at time of vehicle purchase are covered by a 3-year/36,000-mile limited warranty. Installation or use of non-Honda-genuine accessories that results in vehicle damage is not covered under otherwise applicable warranties.
Replacement Parts Limited Warranty:
Honda genuine parts are covered for 1 year. The warranty coverage for replacement parts purchased from and installed by a Honda dealer includes parts replacement and labor.

Honda Service Pass
Honda Service Pass is complimentary maintenance that assists in keeping the buyers new Honda running smoothly. This service pass uses only Honda genuine parts and covers certain factory-scheduled maintenance over the first two years or 24,000 miles, including:
- Oil Changes
- Tire Rotation
- Multi-Point Inspection
New Honda owners will also receive a Maintenance Minder alert inside the vehicle when it’s time to schedule service, which can be done through the HondaLink smartphone app.
Honda Care
- Vehicles less than 3 years old and with fewer than 36,000 miles are eligible for Honda Care VSC Plans.
- Vehicles less than 1 year old and with fewer than 12,000 miles are eligible for Honda Care Maintenance.

The redesigned sixth-gen Hybrid CR-V is a definite improvement over its predecessor. It is loaded with tons of standard safety features and now has a roomier, more comfortable cabin, along with an improved hybrid performance. Honda definitely did what it set out to do when working to maintain its place on the bestseller list.
