*Disclosure: Vehicles (GMC AT4X AEV Trucks) were provided to me by GMC. However, all opinions are my own.*
A few months back I headed to Camp Canyon to check out the third-gen 2023 Canyon lineup, which consisted of four trim levels: Elevation, AT4, AT4X and Denali. All engineered to offer customers an extremely serious off-roading experience, along with the first ever AT4X, which was designed for even more intensity.
Although each trim provided a different experience, I was extremely impressed by all four, and I honestly didn’t think the AT4X lineup could get any better. Until I headed to Bozeman to check out the 2024 GMC AT4X/AEV models.

The Ultimate Off-Road Experience
During my time in Montana, I had the opportunity to test out the mid-size 2024 GMC Canyon AT4X, AT4X AEV Edition and the first-ever 2024 Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition. And I have to say that I was even more impressed by this lineup.
AT4X capabilities along with the AEV hardware/tech takes the GMC off-roading experience to the next level for sure! Making this line even more aggressive, assertive and enhanced, which provides customers the ultimate off-road experience. And also making these trucks undeniable beasts.

2024 GMC Canyon AT4X
I have been on my fair share of off-roading adventures, but I must admit this one was definitely the most intense and exhilarating thus far. The rocky/narrow and dusty trails, steep inclines, huge drops and big trucks made me walk away feeling like I have definitely earned my bragging rights and definitely looking forward to pushing things a little further.
Cause yes, I want ALL the off-roading smoke! I am so here for it! Periodt!
Now, I do realize that my success had a lot to do with the AT4X/AEV capabilities, because this truck’s optimized performance and rugged off-road capabilities definitely allowed it to hold its own throughout the entire experience. Making my time as driver and passenger incredibly fun.

The First-Ever 2024 GMC Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition
The first ever Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition has been added to the lineup and what a worthy addition. This was my first time driving a Sierra and now I see what the hype is all about. The pickup is insane, and the collab with AEV definitely elevated it to a new level.
Just know that while I was out on those trials living my best life, the hill descent control feature, drive modes and cameras became my best friends.
Each feature put me at ease in more ways than one. The hill descent control allowed the Sierra to handle that huge drop (see video) with incredible ease. And the cameras helped me see over large raises, when going over extremely rocky terrain and also when the truck in front of me was literally kicking up dust.
Production: 2024 Sierra HD AT4X and AT4X AEV Edition are arriving now

The available Sierra HD AT4X AEV Edition adds off-road upgrades…

- Exclusive AEV design elements throughout (badging, floor mats, contrast tailgate decal)

Overall Thoughts
GMC continues to flex their off-roading muscle, while on a mission to build the ultimate off-road legacy. I just have to say that they are right on schedule, because this year’s lineup is just insane. In my opinion they continue to make off-roading enthusiasts/adventurers even proud.
Now there are a few things that I would be remiss if I didn’t touch on, which are the gorgeous white accents that are exclusive to the AT4X trims, and the full-size spare tire mounted in the bed that comes equipped in the AEV trims.
The white would be perfect for someone like me who would be driving around flexing most of the time, but any true off-roading enthusiast/adventurer would have a hard time keeping that clean. Next, the location of the full-size tire might be a bit of a distraction to the driver.

OK! I have a two-part question.
One, tell us what your thoughts are on the GMC and AEV collaboration? Two, what do you think of the GMC AT4X AEV trucks? I personally think the trucks are insane and the collab is genius.
Inquiring minds would love to know your thoughts. To learn more about these trucks, contact your local GMC dealership or visit their website.
