Happy Sunday Sassy Peeps!
I’m sure you guys have noticed that my mom has totally been my wing women on my last few trips. We are having so much fun together. Each year we usually plan for a few Gibson Gals road trips, but that number seems to be expanding. Don’t get me wrong, neither one of us is complaining, it’s just a very nice observation.
This go around, we headed down to South Beach to participate in the Nascar Experience with several other Advance Auto Parts guests, and BOY WHAT A THRILL IT WAS!!!!
Have you guys ever a chance to experience a Nascar Race? If not, hold onto your seats while I take you on the Nascar ride of a lifetime!
Behind the Scenes
The first Homestead-Miami Speedway day consisted of:
- The group getting to know one another.
- Picking up our credentials at the NXS ( NASCAR XFINITY Series) Credential Building.
- Being guided into the infield by our awesome tour guides.
- Given a tour through the NSX garage; which included:
- A tour through the JRM (JR Motorsports) led hauler and Access to the NXS Qualifying pit road.
Once each session was completed, we were free to roam the infield FanZone area, where we got a chance to chill out, cool off, mingle, eat a delicious lunch and take tons of photos.
After a few hours, we could hear the extremely loud and beautiful growls of the cars coming from the track as the NSCA Finalist practiced. As soon as practice was over, it was time for the actual NSX Race to start (200 Laps, 300 Miles; lasting about 3 hours).
It was my first time experiencing anything like that so you guys know I was totally riled up! I loved the sound of the cars as they went around the track. I also loved the way the guys in the pit worked as a team to get the tires changed and the vehicles back on the track in a matter of secs. Boy, they are fast. At times it looked like God would speed up time, making them look like animated figures instead of actual humans! It was literally insane! I have to tell you they totally ROCK!
Up Close & Personal
Day two of the Homestead-Miami Speedway Experience:
-
- Once again, we were dropped off at the main entrance and guided into the infield.
- We were then given a tour through the NSCA Garage and free to roam in the infield FanZone area for about an hour.
- After that, it was time for our meet & greet with the men behind the wheel of Nascar #88…Alex Bowman and Dale Earnhardt Jr. Note: Alex was standing in for Dale due to medical issues.
- Next, came NSCS (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series) Driver Introductions.
Championship NASCAR Race (NSCS)
After the NSCS (NASCAR Sprint Cup Series) Driver Introductions the Championship Race begin!!!!
I have to tell you guys the first day was amazing, but the second day was totally Nascar Epic! Meeting Alex and Dale were awesome. Additionally, having the opportunity to stand on the track with the drivers/crew while the National Anthem was sung and being able to take pics with Alex was a Wowsers moment.
When the race originally started I was wearing my FanVision Racing Headset (A device that allows you to listen to the race up close and personal), but about 20 minutes in I took them off. I felt like they were in the way of my experience. I wanted to not only see this race, but I wanted to feel it as well.
This race was a little longer than the NSX Race. The boys did 267 laps, 400.5 Miles this time around. As the race was coming to an end, and we were sure that Carl Edwards was gonna take it an unfortunate crash, yet dramatic escape happened (Check it out). He was trying to get around another car to take the lead and hit a wall. Yes! It was unfortunate but he handled it with so much class and charm, it was like he won. You go, Carl! Woot Woot!
Although #88 didn’t win, it didn’t matter. He did an excellent job and he totally represented our Advance Auto family! Last but not lease…Kudos to Jimmy Johnson for doing his thang and taking the win like the champ that he is! Nice Job Jimmy!!! You totally rocked it out!
Total epic moments! Alex Bowman and Dale Earnhardt Jr signed my #advanceautoparts gear!
Alex Bowman and the Advance Auto Parts Crew totally representing!
Now to you Sassy Peeps! Have you ever an experience Nascar Race experience? If so, was it at the Homestead Miami Speedway or a different location? Inquiring minds want to know?
Thanks, Advance Auto Parts for a totally Epic and High-Performance Experience! My mom and I had a great time!
Have a Happy Healthy and Always Remember to Always….Stay Sassy

Loved your blog on this unique experience. I did a similar 3-day trip for another brand to NASCAR at Charlotte Raceway and all your photos brought make why this experience was so unforgettable from someone like me who went in knowing little about racing, but emerged as a woman who received an excellent overview of what it takes to be a great racecar driver.
What a great experience! I never had a Nascar Race experience but I would love to! Sounds so much fun!

That sounds like such a fun experience. I am not into race cars or racing, but my boys would love this once they are older and can handle the loud noise.
It looks like you had a wonderful time at the Nascar races! Love the photo of you by the car! That’s a keeper that you should frame! My hubby has a client who makes race car gaskets – I had no idea that all the parts are custom-built for race cars.
