This all electric Rivian R1T truck is definitely one of the most incredible vehicles I have ever driven…like no exaggeration. It not only looks extremely modern and drives great, but it comes equipped with all of this clever and practical technology making it ready for road tripping and adventure.
It literally has all the bells and whistles, such as a hidden gear tunnel, a built-in flashlight/Bluetooth speaker that doubles as a lantern, a security system called Gear Guard, a place to put ice for those who tailgate and so much more. And the cool thing about all of this clever tech and hidden space is that you wouldn’t know it was there at first glance.
Everything literally has a place.
Keep reading to learn why this mid-size electric truck is ready for adventure…

Rivian R1T: An All Electric Truck
1. The Frunk

The all electric R1T does not have a conventional engine, so like other EVs it took advantage of that space and incorporated a frunk. However, Rivian took it a step further and added a drain. So, this frunk can not only be used for additional storage, but also for tailgating or front-gating, which in my opinion is absolutely brilliant.
What is a frunk? It is a front trunk under the hood where items can be stored.
2. Easy Charging

This light-duty truck is available with three AWD drive systems: Dual-Motor, Enhanced Dual-Motor and Quad-Motor. Based on the drive system, battery pack and tires you choose, you’ll get 260–400 miles of range. The one I was driving got 314 miles of range and to be quite honest I was so surprised and completely impressed by how fast it charged.
A few days in I had about 30 miles of range left so I decided to go juice up. I headed over to my usual charging location preparing to be there awhile. However, before I could finish my call (within 20 minutes) the vehicle had charged from 30 to about 168 miles of range.
This was new for me, because in my experience this is the first time that one actually charged as fast as listed.
Note: CCS plug so you can charge with any public charging network, as well as the Rivian Adventure Network.
3. Built-in Flashlight
The built-in flashlight can be found in the driver’s door of the vehicle. This is great when you’re road tripping, camping, off-roading etc. etc. I know there have been a few times I wished I had a flashlight while on the road.
Note: The flashlight will be charged as long as the Rivian is charged. So, you don’t have to worry about charging them separately.
4. Built-in Bluetooth Speaker

The built-in Bluetooth speaker, that can also be doubled as a lantern, is just another reason why I consider this pick up to be so incredible. This removable device makes the Rivian even more versatile, cool and practical. I would definitely use it as a speaker when hanging by the pool with friends, tailgating or jammin out at the park with family. And then switch things up and use a lantern when camping.

5. Handbag Hooks

Trust me when I say that women are always looking for a place to put their bags when on the road. These handbag hooks are a sassy feature that frees up room in the cabin, while making travel time so much more comfortable. Additionally, the hooks can be used for other things as well, like to hang your jacket, dog leash and many other things.
Note: For safety, one should always remove any valuables when out of the vehicle to prevent theft.
6. Gear Guard Security System

Y’all when I say this electric truck is all that and a bag of chips, I mean it. On top of everything else it comes equipped with its own security system, called Gear Guard.
Although I’ve come outside to find my neighbors taking pictures of the test cars that I drive, I have always been curious to know what else they do when I am not around. Well, this go around, I was actually able to see for myself. The R1T comes equipped with five cameras that are embedded around the truck to record any activity. And yep, just as I thought they were really getting in there inspecting as much as they could without having the keys.
This system is designed to give you greater peace of mind, and that’s exactly what it does.
Note: These are my neighbors, so I don’t mind them checking out the vehicles. It’s just funny to see.
