The Toyota GR Supra is a car enthusiast’s dream.
I drove an automatic in 2020 and loved it. However, like many others wondered and asked loudly why there was no manual option for such a performance focused car.
Well, Toyota heard us and now offers both an eight-speed automatic and a six-speed manual transmission for the Supra 3.0. I recently had the opportunity to test out the 2023 Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Premium (manual trans) and boy was I excited. I literally couldn’t sleep the night before it arrived.
Toyota GR Supra 3.0 Manual Coupe

After driving it for a few hours I knew that there is definitely nothing average about this manual transmission sports car. It is iconic, gorgeous, smooth, responsive, well balanced, grippy and believe it or not pretty easy to drive.
Although I have gotten pretty good at driving a stick, when it comes time to drive one, I still get a little anxious. So, my excitement always comes with a bit of anxiety, and I find myself saying the same two things, “I can’t wait to drive this” and “I hope I don’t stall”, which happens to the best of us.
However, it didn’t happen with the Supra. The two-seaters modern and advantaged technology along with my skills, definitely assisted with reducing those awkward stalling moments at lights/stop signs. Even when it felt like it was on the verge of doing so it didn’t.
